The Cronulla swimming pools are located in the middle of North and South Cronulla.
A 7 minute walk from the train station and a 3 minute walk from the closest kiosk. The pool located closer to South Cronulla is perfect kids aged 12 and up. It is mostly used as a training pool in the week and on weekends more families and teens use it as a swimming pool however there are no rules on when you can use this pool as long as you are respectful to everyone using it.
When its low tide most people can touch the bottom however on the high tide most people can’t touch the bottom. The pool is mostly still but when the surf is on the bigger side they will ‘overflow’ into the pool making the water a bit rough. The sides of the pool are really sharp in some places so exiting the pool from places other than the allocated stairs is probably a bad idea. The outside of the pool can also get quite slippery so you should take extra care around the sides of the pool and definitely don’t run.
The pool closer to north Cronulla is more suitable for younger children as it isn’t deep and on the low tides sand is exposed in the pool so it’s much better for children who aren’t confident swimming and it’s a great pool for learning how to swim.
Much like the other pool the sides are pretty sharp when the swell is bigger it can get a little rough but most days it is calm and an excellent swimming spot for little children and their families.
